Maronia (“we”, “us”) is a mobile game in which players trade within a fictional economy. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Maronia is operated by Alihan Benli, an individual developer based in Türkiye.
Information we collect
- Account details. You sign up with an email address and password. We keep your email, a unique account identifier and a securely hashed password to sign you in; your password is never stored in plain text.
- Gameplay data. Your holdings, transactions, standing, honours and other activity, so your account works across sessions and devices.
- Technical data. Device model, operating system, app version, language and IP address, collected automatically by our providers to run and secure the service.
- Purchase data. If you take a Maronia Club membership, the app store sends us a purchase receipt. We keep that receipt and its transaction identifier with your account to confirm the membership and to know when it renews or ends. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google: we never see or store your card details.
- Support messages. Anything you send us when you ask for help.
Maron () is a fictional currency used only inside the game. It has no value in the real world and cannot be exchanged for money. The Maronia Club membership is a subscription to standing, not a purchase of Maron — see our Terms of Service.
How we use it
- To run the game, verify your identity, and sync your account.
- To confirm a Maronia Club membership with the app store and keep it current.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To fix problems, improve features, and answer support requests.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers who help us run Maronia — our database and authentication provider (Supabase) and Google Firebase (push notifications) — and with the app stores that distribute Maronia. We use no third-party advertising or analytics, and disclose data only as needed to run the service or where the law requires it.
Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except for limited records we must keep to meet legal obligations.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, including the EU GDPR, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account and its data from within the app (Settings › Account › Delete Account), or by request — see /delete-account. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Maronia is not directed to children under the age required in your country to consent to data processing, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security & transfers
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Where data is processed outside your region, we rely on appropriate safeguards.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Any significant change will appear here with a new date above.
